3d-Printing of LEGO Bricks and Washing

During the last seven months I collected several experiences with LEGO bricks in the washing machine. Here now comes a report of the outcome of a related experiment: LEGO bricks were 3d-printed by a friend, and the resulting bricks (almost identical copies, but without name "LEGO" on the pins) were thrown in the washing-machine. The printer was SLS type; SLS stands for "selective laser sintering". The copies are those made from transparent plastics, in all photos to follow.
Während der letzten sieben Monate machte ich eine Menge Experimente mit LEGO-Steinen in der Waschmaschine. Hier ist jetzt der Bericht über ein verwandtes Experiment: Ein Freund hatte mit seinem 3D-Drucker (Typ SLS - selektives Laser Sintern) etliche LEGO-Stein-Kopien gemacht, aber ohne den Schriftzug auf den Noppen. Diese Steine kamen dann auch in die Waschmaschine. In allen folgenden Fotos sind die 3d-Nachdrucke aus transparentem Kunststoff.

Von jedem der 18 Steine machte der Drucker zwei Kopien.
From each of the 18 bricks the 3d-printer produced two copies.

I made five washing runs, where the 18 LEGO bricks and the 35 3d-copies were together in one cushion cover.
Ich machte fünf Waschläufe, wo die 18 LEGO-Steine und die 35 3d-Kopien zusammen in einem Kissenbezug waren.

A final comment: As seen from the photos, 3d-printed clones build complexes more frequently than regular LEGO bricks. Having in mind the washing experiments with Bayer bricks of different clutch powers we may conclude that the clone bricks behave somehow like Bayer A instead of Bayer C or Bayer D.
Eine Schluss-Bemerkung: Wie man in den Fotos sieht, bilden 3d-gedruckte Clones häufiger Komplexe als reguläre LEGO-Steine. Erinnert man sich an die Wasch-Experimente mit Bayer-Steinen verschiedener Klemmkraft, kann man folgern, dass sich die Clone-Steine irgendwie wie Bayer A verhalten, aber nicht wie die härteren Bayer C oder Bayer D.
